The Tamar Valley provides enormous stimulation and inspiration for artists. During 1811-1814, Turner painted his famous “Crossing the Brook” in the Tamar Valley, and many other artists have followed in his footsteps.
There is an enormous amount of artistic talent present in the Tamar Valley, and we at Tamar Valley Art have brought together some of this talent and have made their art available to all, via the means of our high quality greeting cards.
The Tamar river forms the ancient boundary between Devon and Cornwall in England. The valley is stunningly beautiful, and encompasses not just the Tamar, but also the rivers Tavy and Lynher and all their tributaries.
Situated between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, it is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It also contains a rich cultural and historical heritage, encompassing old castles and houses, market towns and gardens and a rich mining history.
Our artists take their inspirations from these motivating surroundings.
