Colin Paul Pethick
Colin Paul Pethick was born and bred in Gunnislake in the Tamar Valley and studied Fine Art at the University of Plymouth. His work is a form of intense visual study examining everyday objects such as fabric and bric-a-brac that act as symbols of seemingly mundane domesticity. Through the relationship between these symbols, Colin attempts to convey an atmosphere of tension, contradiction and contrast. With his paintings he provides a narrative with several scenarios whilst investigating the aesthetic of ‘beauty in the mundane’. More of Colin’s work can be seen on www.colinpethick.co.uk
